Part-time Judge Application Deadline Extended Due to Inclement Weather

MOBILE, AL – The application deadline to fill (3) part-time positions for municipal judge in the City of Mobile Municipal Court has been extended to Thursday, January 23, 2025, to accommodate those affected by the closing of city offices due to inclement weather conditions in the area.

Prospective applicants must be members of the Alabama State Bar (in good standing) and must meet the requirements of Alabama Code Title 12, Chapter 14, and Chapter 38 of the City of Mobile Municipal Code.

Applicants must submit a copy of their resume with a cover letter to the City Clerk by 4:00 p.m. on January 23, 2025. Resumes will not be accepted after that time.

Selected applicants will be required to undergo a background check through the NCIC and must consent to the Alabama State Bar providing information on the applicant’s disciplinary record.

Salary information:

Part-time: $65,000 per year.

Part-time judges are eligible to participate in the City of Mobile’s health insurance plan.
