Mobile, Ala. — As plans for Mobile’s New Arena continue to come together, the City of Mobile wants to make sure that local businesses have the tools they need to compete for opportunities related to this major project. On Tuesday, Sept.10, our Office of Supplier Diversity will again partner with Volkert Inc. and Norman Hill Consulting Solutions for an “Opportunity and Matchmaker Meeting.”
Hosted at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico, this meeting is designed to inform small businesses and contractors in the Mobile area about the various opportunities a project of this scale will create for local suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. It will be geared toward small businesses, minority-owned businesses, prime contractors, subcontractors, and those certified as Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) or those interested in the DBE certification process. This will be the second meeting for local small businesses that the City of Mobile and its project partners have hosted related to the New Arena project. It will be an excellent opportunity to network with other local businesses, contractors and stakeholders involved with the project.
The “Opportunity and Matchmaker Meeting" is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10. If you’re an interested small business owner, you can register by clicking here.
As the demolition starts and plans for the new arena move forward, we will share more information at https://www.cityofmobile.org/mobile-new-arena/. There, you can find the most up-to-date renderings of the future arena, answers to frequently asked questions, a timeline for the project and periodic updates about significant milestones. We have set up a dedicated email for the new arena project to keep citizens and neighbors informed. That address is newarena@cityofmobile.org.
