Mayor Stimpson releases proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2025
Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2025 was delivered to the members of the Mobile City Council this afternoon.
A copy of the proposal budget for FY2025 is attached, and below is a statement from Mayor Sandy Stimpson about this year's proposed budget. The document also contains a letter from Mayor Stimpson to the members of the City Council regarding the proposed budget for the coming year.
"Big things are on the horizon for Mobile in 2025. With this proposed budget, the city is on track to invest in major projects like a new civic arena and parking deck on the Mobile Civic Center site, a new terminal at Mobile International Airport and more," Mayor Stimpson said. "Thanks to disciplined financial stewardship over the last ten years, the city is in a position to take on game-changing projects like these without sacrificing our commitment to repairing local infrastructure, improving the quality of life for Mobilians, and providing competitive pay to our first responders and all city employees."
Some highlights of the proposed FY2025 budget include:
-
2.5% Cost of Living Adjustment for City of Mobile employees
-
Streamlined pay plan that raises the starting salary for first responders
-
$48 million for Capital Projects across the City of Mobile
-
$23 million for continued debt service
-
