City of Mobile to Close Offices Wednesday Due to Winter Weather

Mobile, Ala. — In response to the anticipated severe winter weather, Mayor Sandy Stimpson has extended the Proclamation of Civil Emergency for the City of Mobile and its police jurisdiction. This emergency declaration will now be in effect from Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 12 p.m. to Wednesday, January 22, at 5 p.m. (CST)

As a result, all City of Mobile offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, and city trash and garbage services will not run on those days. Currently, we are unable to provide a schedule for potential make-up days as we are still assessing the full impact of the storm on sanitation services. We will share additional information as soon as it is available.

Mobile Municipal Court dockets scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, will also be canceled. This also impacts those scheduled to report to the City’s Probation Office on January 22. The next date for probation reporting will be Wednesday, January 29. Notice of new municipal court dates will be sent out via the U.S Mail.
