Carnival to resume year-round sailings from Mobile in 2027

Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile and Carnival Cruise Line are excited to announce the cruise line will be resuming year-round operations from the Port of Mobile beginning in the spring of 2027.

Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy announced the company’s intention to resume year-round sailings from Mobile during a press event earlier today. As one of the highest-rated ports for customer experience and satisfaction, Mobile has continued to strengthen its relationship with Carnival and invest in the passenger facilities at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal, most recently with a new gangway.

Carnival has been offering multiple itineraries and destinations aboard the Carnival Spirit, which has been sailing from the Port of Mobile six months out of the year since 2023. Spirit is set to return for sailings in October and resume its regular seasonal schedule. At this time, Carnival has not announced which of its ships will call Mobile home once year-round sailings begin in the spring of 2027.

“The return to year-round sailings from the Port of Mobile is a testament to our relationship with Carnival and the incredible effort the staff at the Mobile Alabama Cruise Terminal puts in to making sure every passenger that comes through Mobile has an exceptional experience,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “This is great news for Mobilians and the many businesses that rely on our city’s thriving tourism industry.”

The return of year-round cruising from Mobile is part of Carnival’s commitment to remain accessible to 50 percent of the U.S. population living within a five-hour drive of a Carnival homeport. Mobile has a successful drive market for Carnival, routinely drawing passengers from across the Southeast.
