Build Mobile, Engineering, and Public Works make major progress in 2024
Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile is proud to release the Build Mobile, Engineering and Infrastructure, and Public Works Annual Report, highlighting the departments' extraordinary work in 2024.
This report provides an overview of these three major departments and the critical functions they serve. Formerly known as Public Works, these departments are forward-facing and include services like Parks and Recreation and Sanitation that citizens see every day. Behind the scenes, others like Engineering, Planning and Zoning, and Fleet Maintenance are also working hard to make our city better.
The goal of this report is to showcase the work being done across the city and highlight the incredible team of employees that is making it happen. The impact that Build Mobile, Engineering and Infrastructure, and Public Works have on the City of Mobile is substantial, and this report offers a detailed look at the many ways these departments serve our community day in and day out.
"These employees are often the unsung heroes of city government. They quietly and efficiently keep Mobile moving on a day-to-day basis," Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. "There is no shortage of impressive statistics about WHAT they’re doing, but I think it’s just as important to remember WHY they’re doing it. Throughout each of these departments, you’ll find men and women who care deeply about their work and this community. Mobile is their home, and they proudly serve it every day."
