Applications Open for City of Mobile Y.E.S. Summer Internships

Mobile, Ala. — The City of Mobile is now accepting applications from young Mobilians interested in summer internships through our Y.E.S. (Youth Empowered for Success) Initiative. Launched in 2016 to connect Mobile’s youth to local employment and career development opportunities, the Y.E.S. program is geared toward teens and college students interested in gaining valuable experience in the local workforce.

The Y.E.S. program can connect young professionals to paid local internships that offer up to 160 hours of on-the-job workforce experience. It’s open to students ages 16 to 24 who live in or attend college in the City of Mobile. City staff will interview, vet, and place interns based on availability, student interest, and the needs of participating employers. The summer program will take place during June and July of 2025.

“We’ve seen some students start out as Y.E.S. interns and go on to find full-time jobs with the City of Mobile and other employers,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “This is one of the many ways the city and our partners are connecting Mobilians to local opportunities so we can retain young talent in Mobile.”

Applications for Y.E.S. summer internships will remain open through April 4, 2025. Space is limited, so qualifying students are encouraged to apply early at https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8087041/YES-Intern-Application-Summer-2025. You can also find additional information about the Y.E.S. program and hear directly from former interns and organizers at https://www.cityofmobile.org/yes251.
