Upcoming Council Committee Meetings

Mobile, AL – The City Council has announced upcoming meetings of several committees to take up key issues, including the City’s Fiscal Year 2021 Budget. These meetings will be held virtually and can be viewed at cityofmobile.org/livestream.
The Council will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed budget at their regular meeting next Tuesday, September 1st at 10:30 a.m. Citizens interested in addressing the Council on the proposed budget should contact the City Clerk’s office by Monday at 12:00 p.m. Citizens can reach the Clerk’s office at: cityclerk@cityofmobile.org or 251-208-7411.
Immediately following that meeting, the Council Capital Improvement Program Committee will meet to discuss a proposal which would amend the Capital Improvement Plan to include an option for application of certain funds to neighborhood revitalization projects. Council Vice President C.J. Small, who is chair of the committee, is joined on it by Councilmen Fred Richardson and John Williams.
On Tuesday, September 8th at 2:00 p.m., the Public Safety Committee will then meet to discuss policies related to street closures and vacations. Councilman Fred Richardson, who chairs the committee, is joined on it by Councilwoman Gina Gregory and Councilman John Williams.
The following Tuesday, on September 15th at 3:00 p.m., the Finance Committee will meet to discuss a proposed ordinance addressing food trucks. A copy of that ordinance is available HERE. Councilman Joel Daves is chair of the committee and is joined on it by Councilmen Fred Richardson and John Williams.
