Grand Opening of Playground Express this Saturday

Playground Express, the new one-of-a-kind playground at the Medal of Honor Park, will open this Saturday, July 15th at 9:00 AM. At the event, Councilwoman Bess Rich, Commissioner Connie Hudson, and Mayor Sandy Stimpson will officially open the playground and welcome children, parents and grandparents from across the city.
The opening is the culmination of a major city/county partnership which consists of a totally rebuilt “Playground Express” with a modern play structure, equipment and safety surfaces along with a fully renovated playground area complete with new fencing, garbage cans, benches, and drinking fountain. As the former structures did, the new playground celebrates transportation and includes various structures that represent the various local modes of transportation. Attached are some recent photos.
