A Message from Mayor Stimpson - September 10
Sep 10th, 2020
Good evening,
It is 9:30 p.m. on September 10, 2020 and I am writing to give you an update from the City of Mobile.
Today, the Mobile County Health Department reports 12,747 COVID-19 cases, an increase of 51 cases. To review the detailed report, click here.
Today I attended a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of Transworld Business Advisors. The company, which focuses on business brokerage, franchise consulting and franchise development, did an excellent full renovation of a downtown building on St. Francis St. Transworld Mobile is now the Gulf Coast Headquarters and known as "Transworld of the Gulf Coast." They cover the Florida Panhandle and coastal markets in MS, AL, LA.
This brings me to a point I've made several times over the last couple of months. There has never been a better time to promote moving to Mobile than right now. We are hearing from companies and individuals across the country who are recognizing the business-friendly environment and quality of life that we have to offer here in our city. In Mobile, we are open for business!
John Maxwell wrote, "We should not omit careful thinking or belittle our God-given ability to reason; but we should not trust our own ideas to the exclusion of all others." This evening, several members of my team and I met with a black business coalition. We had the opportunity to share some of the great work happening at the City and hear their feedback. These kinds of conversations are critical to our success as a city. We are making great strides towards solving some big problems, but we can't do it alone.
Sleep Tight!
