   Contractor Requirements (License Requirements, Certification Requirements, Bond Requirements)
License Requirements Business license with the City of Mobile, State general contractors license for work over $50,000. (click for State Licensing Board Certification requirements State master plumber?s license and City master plumber registration (note for the purpose of water heater installation only, a master gas fitter?s license will be acceptable). (click for State Plumbing Board) All plumbers working on any construction site must be certified by the state and registered with the City of Mobile at their appropriate competency level (master, journeyman or apprentice).    Commercial Plan Submittals

   Home owner requirements to perform own plumbing on residence (allowed on primary residence only)
  1. Proof of ownership at time of permitting.
  2. Riser diagram drawings to be submitted by owner to verify ability to perform plumbing work.
